I put the Shimano Indexed St M520/M530 shifters on my LHT recently and they=
work perfectly. Also put them on my daughters LHT with a low-normal derail=
leur and they work great there too. Her front deraluer is a top/bottup pull=
and the cable loops up from the bottom over to the top of the derailleur. =
Barrel adjusters were useful for fine tuning.
I installed the VO cranks on hers and have stock on mine, but I've never kn=
own the crank to make much difference for the shifter. Also, on my LHT, I'm=
currently running a 24T difference from small ring to large with no proble=
m after buying new rings. I've gone back and forth from indexed to non inde=
xed friction. The current shifters have produced my best shifting experienc=
e so far.
