When you are rolling along in a fixed gear, bucking a headwind or just
making good time.  You look down and on the top of the fork crown, the
little "wing" reliefs are getting pushed backwards by your efforts.  At
least it seemed that way to me today.

(yeah, I know it's the same crown on other models....)
